REVIEW – Perdue: Popcorn Chicken from Costco (Frozen)

My boyfriend and I bought some of the frozen Perdue Popcorn Chicken from Costco to have as a snack every now and then. The instructions on the bag state the preferred cooking method is using a conventional oven or toaster oven, but we just used the microwave instructions. The microwave instructions don't state how many pieces to microwave for 3 - 3.5 minutes, so we just tried microwaving 8 pieces.
Although the breading was thick, it didn't turn out very crispy. It was kind of doughy and a little too thick for me. The chicken underneath the breading was OK, but it was a little dry, and the overall taste of the chicken was a little peppery.
It was fine as a quick snack, but I don't know if I'd get these again.

REVIEW – Perdue: Popcorn Chicken from Costco (Frozen)
I love these! I cook them in an Air-Fryer and they come out perfect! Cut them up and put them in a Chinese chicken salad! Love it!
Have been buying these for years. I bake them inn the oven on a layer of crumpled aluminum foil sprayed with PAM. nice and crispy every time.
Not sure why you expected the chicken to be turn out crispy by microwaving them.
Exactly… food with breading never turns out crispy in the microwave, if you want it to be crispy, cook it in the oven or fry it.
I bought these on sale at Costco for $8.99 and immediately went back to buy more. The only way to make these is to pan fry in oil, or a deep fryer if you have one! Sooooo good and crispy! It’s a shame the instructions only show microwave and oven methods.
