REVIEW – Trader Joe’s Wild Salmon in Yogurt & Mint Sauce (Frozen)
A frozen box of this Wild Salmon in Yogurt & Mint Sauce with Orzo pasta, Spinach, and Zucchini from Trader Joe's had been sitting in the freezer for a few months, and no one had eaten it yet, so I decided to finally try it for a quick lunch.
The microwave instructions on the box state to peel back a corner of the tray, microwave it for 6-7 minutes, and let it stand for two minutes. Since it had been in the freezer for a while, I microwaved it for 7 minutes.
I'm not a fan of yogurt, so salmon in a yogurt and mint sauce didn't sound great. Fortunately for me, it didn't have a strong yogurt taste. Unfortunately for me, it didn't have much taste at all.
Well, the salmon did taste like salmon, but it was very dry. Eating the salmon combined with the Orzo pasta and yogurt / mint sauce helped a little, but it wasn't enough. The sauce didn't really taste like anything, and it was all just very bland. The salmon tray also came with two cherry tomato halves, and when I tried one, I had to spit it out because it was too sweet. I could only finish about half of the salmon and pasta tray before I threw it all away.

REVIEW – Trader Joe’s Wild Salmon in Yogurt & Mint Sauce (Frozen)
This salmon entrie was good the last time I had it. This time it did not appear to be salmon. It was more of an oily white fish. Not tasty. I have bought it several other times and it was good. Not honest to put another kind of fish into the package if they ran out or other reason. Thumbs Down TJ’s!
Frozen uncooked and unseasoned salmon on top of the food. i had to take it to skillet and to do it myself, the pasta have no taste at all. I’ll never buy it again. Do not recommend either. Totally disrespectful, once i buy some practical healthy last minute food to my kids
I thought it was delicious! It definitely wasn’t super flavorful. However it still tasted good enough to finish and left me with that light and satisfied feeling ready to continue the day. As oppose to super stuffed and ready to nap feeling. I would purchase again for sure. I’m not sure if this makes a difference or not, but I ate mine the same day I bought it. Also all the main ingredients are good for you! Great meal TJ!
Hate cooking fish but love to eat it: TJs salmon with yogurt and mint sauce is now a weekly (or twice weekly) treat. Wonderful flavor, perfectly cooked flaky fish. I never keep it in freezer longer than 2 weeks; cook for 6 min, Then I micro a few halved cherry tomatoes for a minute and add to fish (not enough tomatoes in package) and micro another 30 seconds or so. Delicious, healthy, so perfect ever time.
