Box of Jose Ole: Frozen Beef & Cheese Mini Tacos
Jose Ole: Frozen Beef & Cheese Mini Tacos

I bought a box of frozen Jose Ole Mini Tacos with beef and cheese because the box was on clearance for $2.50 at Safeway.

The microwave instructions on the box state to microwave 8 frozen mini tacos on a plate for 1-2 minutes.

I didn't feel like eating 8 tacos (even though they were small) so I warmed up 4 mini tacos in the microwave for 50 seconds.

The main thing I tasted in the tacos was a weird blended meat and nacho-y cheese taste. There also seemed to be pieces of gristle in the beef, and it was pretty oily. For me, the tortilla was the best part of the tacos.

My boyfriend also tried some, and he didn't think they were too bad and stated that they tasted fine.

Although he thought they were OK, I didn't really like the tacos at all, and I couldn't eat more than two of them. After eating some of my second taco, I decided to just eat the tortillas because I couldn't stand the taste of the beef and cheese.

Container of Kirkland Signature Chicken Tortilla Soup Especial
Pot of Kirkland Signature Chicken Tortilla Soup Especial

I tried some of Costco's Chicken Tortilla Soup Especial. My dad and stepmom love this soup and have bought it from Costco several times. They like to freeze the soup (instead of refrigerating it) and cook it on the stovetop, although it can also be cooked using the microwave instructions.

Spoon of Kirkland Signature Chicken Tortilla Soup Especial

The first thing I noticed about this soup was that it smelled like the inside of an enchilada. The soup was a tiny bit spicy and had a tomato-y and salty taste, which was OK. One thing I really didn't like was the fibrous texture of the finely shredded chicken in the soup.

Like other soups, it started out tasting fine but got a little tiring after a few bites. The saltiness overstays its welcome pretty quickly.

My dad and stepmom like to add shredded cheese to their soup. I didn't add any cheese to mine since I think that would just make the soup taste saltier.

Although it wasn't that great, it still tasted better than a canned soup.

Can of Progresso Light Vegetable Soup
Progresso Light Vegetable Soup

I tried some of this light vegetable soup because I was sick with a cold.

Just like with their chicken noodle soup, the noodles (spiral pasta) were OK, but all the vegetables seemed to just dissolve in my mouth. The soup had a strong, sour tomato taste that got worse as I ate more so I didn't really care much for it.
