Chicken Tikka Masala, Saffron Rice, Poori from Saffron Indian Restaurant in Tucson

I went to Saffron Indian Bistro for a birthday dinner. I had chicken tikka masala (medium spice) and poori, which also came with saffron rice.

The chicken tikka masala had a heavy tomato cream sauce. There were fairly big cubes of chicken, and the red chicken tikka was nice and moist. The medium spiciness also went perfectly with the chicken.

The saffron rice was well-cooked and nicely seasoned.

The deep-fried poori (whole wheat bread) was also nice and poofy, but it was a little crunchier and oiler than I am used to. They weren't as good as the poori my grandma makes, but they were still pretty good.

Posada Steak & Cheese Burritos
Plate of Posada Steak & Cheese Burritos

I bought a box of the Posada steak & cheese burritos to try from Costco. I liked that the burritos had steak and cheese and no filler beans (since I don't like beans).

I followed the microwave directions on the back and microwaved one burrito for 90 seconds.

The overall taste of the burrito was pretty savory with a faint, underlying tomato taste. The green chilies are fairly prominent, and the shredded steak pieces are fairly respectable for a frozen burrito.

The burrito was very similar to the El Monterey Steak and Cheese burritos, and it tasted good overall.

Blue Bell Utlimate Neopolitan Ice Cream
Blue Bell Utlimate Neopolitan Ice Cream

My boyfriend likes strawberry ice cream, and we both like vanilla and chocolate ice cream so we decided to try some of Blue Bell's Ultimate Neopolitan ice cream, which includes all three flavors. It didn't hurt that it was also on sale at Fry's (Kroger) for $3.77 for half a gallon.

All three of the ice cream flavors were super sweet. The vanilla and chocolate flavors are masked a little bit in the sweetness (but they still taste like vanilla and chocolate). The strawberry flavor was also super sweet, but it tasted the most like its respective flavor. However, I usually don't like fruit in my ice cream, and I didn't like the strawberry slices in this case so it was good for me that the three different flavors were partitioned into three different sections.

Although the three flavors were all sweet and eating this ice cream makes me thirsty, the ice cream still tasted good overall.
