Trader Joe's Chickenless Crispy Tenders

My boyfriend's parents had bought some Chickenless Crispy Tenders from Trader Joe's so I ended up trying some of them.

We followed the oven instructions and baked the chicken(less) tenders from frozen in the oven for 25 minutes.

I didn't really like the breading on the outside of the tenders because there were oats in it, and the oats made the breading texture weird. I'm sure no fast food chain is going to be adding oats to their chicken breading any time soon. They also weren't very crispy, even though "crispy tenders" is in the name.

The tenders were a little mushy on the inside, but they were close to chicken, considering they weren't actually chicken (if that makes any sense). They tasted OK overall, but they weren't that great.

Bag of Trader Joe's Scallion Pancakes (Pa Jeon)
Trader Joe's Scallion Pancakes (Pa Jeon)

My mom used to cook Korean pancakes when I was younger, so I was excited to try these Pa Jeon pancakes from Trader Joe's.

The oven instructions stated to cook the pancakes for 4-7 minutes at 400F, turn half-way through, and press with a spatula. When we cooked some for the first time, we cooked them for 7 minutes. We weren't sure about the press with a spatula part, but we sort of pressed them down after turning them.

I haven't had Korean pancakes in a long time so I can't really compare them with real Korean pancakes, but they turned out to be pretty good. We didn't eat them with any sauce, and they just tasted like a savory pancake slightly textured by the cooked scallions and carrots. They had the right amount of doughy-ness and crispiness on the outside. The pancakes were also very filling so I was only able to eat one.

Box of Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice
Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice Cooked

I bought some Trader Joe's Jasmine Rice as a quick way to cook up some white rice.

The box comes with three frozen pouches of rice, and I followed the instructions on the box and microwaved one of the pouches for 3 minutes.

The rice isn't a sticky rice, and it wasn't mushy or hard and came out perfectly cooked. It was perfect as a side of rice for two people.
